Biography
The natural progression of any spiritual journey takes you to a higher plane. DJ, Producer, Remixer Mark Picchiotti pilots that plane. Mark’s “fuel” is his symbiotic relationship with the decks, now hitting the 25 year mark. During that time, he has held residencies at many of Chicago’s hottest clubs like SHELTER, SMART BAR, MEDUSA'S, BERLIN, and CROBAR. He regularly travels the globe spinning his signature sound everywhere from MINISTRY OF SOUND (UK), PACHA (Portugal), EL DIVINO (Ibiza) and CROBAR (various) to the PAVILION on Fire Island. Additionally, Mark is a 4-time veteran of Chicago’s largest Circuit event, FIREBALL. Because of his solid reputation Mark was selected to be the official DJ of reality TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race North American winner’s tour. That same reputation brought added kudos with a request from JANET JACKSON to DJ her private album launch party.

Mark was voted one of the 40 most influential remixers of all time. With 18 #1 Billboard® Chart toppers, his remix discography reads like a who’s who of international pop superstardom including RIHANNA, BEYONCE, MADONNA, MARIAH CAREY, ENRIQUE IGLESIAS and MARY J. BLIGE—all part of the 18 #1 tally. And Mark’s remix engine continues to purr as he puts his touch on media darlings FOSTER THE PEOPLE, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE and PASSION PIT.


Mark’s production career started 20 years ago with the LaTOUR album spawning the top 40 hit, “People Are Still Having Sex” and from the same album “Blue” which was featured in the movie “Basic Instinct” during the steamy club scenes. As a much sought after producer, Mark produced and co-wrote the song “Give It To Me” for KYLIE MINOGUE from her 8x platinum album FEVER, as well as produced the song “Butterfly” from the preceding LIGHT YEARS album. Mark is also the mastermind behind gospel house act THE ABSOLUTE featuring SUZANNE PALMER, with “There Will Come a Day”, “I Believe” and “Catch Me”. A force to be reckoned with, Mark has contributed many classic hits to the club world over the last 20 years.


Always a favorite, Mark’s act BASSTOY is now on its third single “Devil” which is already in the top 10 of the US National Record Pool Charts and destined for greater success following in the footsteps of the first two, “Runnin” and “Turn it Up”. Both singles went to #1 on the US Billboard® and UK National Club Charts and “Runnin” went top 10 on the UK Pop Charts. Hot on the heels of BASSTOY are “Fly”, Mark’s summer anthem and “Who You Really Be” featuring his latest diva-in-training Kenyata, both out late this summer.

The heart and soul of Mark’s production talents lie in his DJing. His ability to connect with a crowd and take them on a compelling musical venture is his greatest asset. A versatile DJ, Mark can spin a sexy after-hours set, a passionate morning-music groove or an uplifting, feel-good, beach party vibe. For main-room events, Mark takes the dance floor on a seamless journey from soulful house to progressive house—and a few other “houses” in between—a journey not to be missed.
